Providence Community Church

@ Monterey Centre, Sundays 10am

Welcome to Providence.

oak bay1

We meet at 10:00 each Sunday morning at the Monterey Centre in Oak Bay.  Our purpose is to hear God’s Word, sing his praise, draw near to him in prayer, and encourage one another to follow the Lord Jesus in the week ahead.

Our weekly worship begins with friendly informality, yet continues with a respectful and reverent awareness that we are meeting also with the Lord Jesus himself who promised, “Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20). In this light our singing, praying, encouraging, Scripture reading, and preaching take on very great importance, and become a weekly priority for us all.

At the close of our worship time we enjoy coffee and refreshments together, and always look forward to meeting new people and making new friends.

The Monterey Centre, 1442 Monterey Avenue (parking lot entrance is near the corner of Monterey and Oak Bay Avenues).

Uganda Partnership

Our church has partnered with Christian Model Ministries in Uganda to help support children to receive an education.

With support from our local Oak Bay community, we are currently funding the education for 7 children.

It is our hope that we will work with Christian Model Ministries over the long term to build a children’s village.

We believe:

That when the Bible is clearly taught God’s voice is heard.

That weekly worship depends on expository, Christ-centred preaching.

That to love God is to love his people, and to be involved with them.

That to know the Lord Jesus is to love the world he died to save.

We value:

Theology – which insists that God’s truth finds expression in all of life.

Community – which expresses sincere and genuine care for each other.

Transformation – which comes through daily repentance and faith, as we learn the living power of Christ.

Mission – which brings the message of Jesus to our city, our nation, and our world, inspiring practical every-day hope to all who believe.
